Where to get the best seafood in Ericeira

When in Ericeria, eat fish! Even though the little village isn't known for its fishing anymore, it's still the perfect place to enjoy some really good seafood. Fun Fact: First the village lived off the sea (literally), now it lives off the surfers who come from all over the world to ride its waves.

The best seafood at an exceptional price. Really authentic, simple Portuguese place with white paper tablecloths and carafes of wine. We ordered the mussels 3 times because we couldn't get enough. The octopus salad was also excellent. Nice idea to share some appetizers.

Newly reopened and located next to Balagan right on Praia do Sul, we were surprised by the good quality of the seafood. We only ordered appetizers and shared the shrimp and mussels. The portions were big enough and really good. Nice if you don't feel like going to Balagan but don't want to eat Toasta Mista for the hundredth time. Don't be fooled, it's still cheap for German standards.

Taberna do Petisco in Santa Cruz

Cute little tavern with authentic, good and affordable food with outdoor tables in the small village of Santa Cruz! Worth a visit! And of course, try the local liquor (Poncha- be careful it's strong!) and the house specialty - shrimp in red sauce - while listening to the portueges on the neighboring tables!
