Best sunset spots in Ericeira
There are (of cause) many great places to watch the sunset in Ericeria, but during our time there we loved these places to see the sun touch the water:
Baia Do Sul
The simple snack bar at Praia Do Sul, with its yellow chairs, looks like it was stolen from a Wes Anderson movie set. They offer tosta mista, cheap beer and a beautiful view of the beach, the cliffs and the sunset.
Indigo
The bohemian beach bar at Foz de Lizandro is more beachy than the places at Praia do Sul. Here you can really feel out of place and enjoy the sunset while dancing barefoot on the beach. heir terrace is one of the most beautiful, overlooking the beautiful Foz de Lizandro beach and with huge cushions and steps to gather and have wine and really good food (my favorite is the quinoa poke bowl with tuna) while watching the sunset. This place really has 100% vacation vibes. It is a 10 minutes drive from inner Ericeria, but it is also possible to walk (around 30 minutes) by the coastline. Note: From here you can take the beautiful walk to Praia Sao Juliao.
Mar das Latas
This cute little wine and snack bar attracts all the locals and sun-seekers. The place perfectly combines being in the cute little village of Ericeira and overlooking the port with its white and blue houses while being the first beachfront. The perfect place to watch the sunset and enjoy a bottle (or three) of excellent local Portuguese wine at one of their outdoor tables. Be sure to try the fried chicken and the mushroom sandwich, they are amazing.
