Mar das Latas
This cute little wine and snack bar attracts all the locals and sun-seekers. The place perfectly combines being in the cute little village of Ericeira and overlooking the port with its white and blue houses while being the first beachfront. The perfect place to watch the sunset and enjoy a bottle (or three) of excellent local Portuguese wine at one of their outdoor tables. Be sure to try the fried chicken and the mushroom sandwich, they are amazing.
Adega Bar
If you want to be indoors and surrounded by more people, head to Adega (3 minutes walk from Mar das Latas and perfect to stop by after). This authentic place is visited by locals as well as all the visitors from the surf hostels and is always packed and has a good vibe. Inside it's a wild mix of wood, Japanese paintings and a nautical touch.
Board Riders
The big surf and skate shop on the way to Ribeira d'ilhas has a huge terrace and parties on the weekends with a DJ playing and all the surfer dudes and yoga ladies drinking their beers.
Do not tell them you went to the 58 store 500 meters down the coast, this commercial store is the enemy of the local surf community and not to be supported.
